At Sight360, we are building West Central Florida's premier destination for fully-integrated ophthalmology, medical optometry and optical retail services.

We are a team of over 130 optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgeons, opticians, and eye care professionals serving more than 100,000 patients across 15 different locations in the Greater Tampa Bay area. From routine eye exams and optical retail, to medical optometry, ophthalmology, and surgical procedures, our patients experience end-to-end personalized care and service.

We're currently looking for an experienced Surgery Center Administrator with energy and excitement to join our very experienced team in St. Petersburg, FL. This is an opportunity to provide process improvements as well and policy recommendations for our growing practice.

The Administrator is responsible for leadership of the day-to-day operations including planning, organizing, and directing overall operations for the ASC according to its policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. The Administrator ensures that the ASC meets all relevant local, state, federal, and accrediting-body rules and regulations.

This role is responsible for financial and cost-containment decisions within the ASC. The Administrator serves as internal risk manager and is responsible for management of all aspects of the environment of care, personnel, materials management, equipment procurement, education of personnel, and administrative duties; coordinates and directs patient care in the ASC according to adopted policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and accepted accreditation standards. In addition, this role promotes a favorable image of the ASC to physicians, staff, patients, insurance companies, and the general public, and may delegate duties as deemed necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Center, ensuring that patient safety and the highest quality of care is provided;
  • Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center, and in the overall company;
  • Participate in the strategic planning process to recommend, develop, and update short and long term initiatives supporting the Center's philosophy and goals;
  • Oversee clinical and administrative operations, focusing on quality improvement, operational excellence and business development;
  • Provide direction on staffing decisions and operations to drive efficiencies, while ensuring quality and patient safety;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting body; ensure compliance with the Center's policies and procedures;
  • Serve as primary liaison between the Medical Committee, the medical staff, facility staff, health system partner, and the management company;
  • Oversee the financial performance of the facility; develop operations budget and capital budget; make operational decisions that support the Center's financial goals and objectives;
  • Work in conjunction with the Medical Committee in the evaluation and development of existing and new surgical service lines, capacity assessment, and the recruitment of new physicians;
  • In collaboration with the VP of Human Resources, oversee human resource matters and personnel management in all departments, to include performance reviews and disciplinary actions; ensure high employee morale and a professional, positive, and healthful atmosphere;
  • Manage the overall patient engagement and experience, including the Center's Patient Satisfaction performance;
  • Work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations to ensure appropriate management of the Center.
  • Serve as a member of the Medical Committee; collaborate with Director of Clinical Operations to successfully implement Quality Assurance Performance Improvement program, Infection Control Program, Pharmacy Program, Radiology Program and other components of clinical services as appropriate;
  • Actively participate as a member of the Executive Leadership team at team meetings, functions, planning and budgeting sessions, etc.
  • Maintain memberships in professional associations relevant to ambulatory surgery and healthcare administration;
  • Foster a network of peers and industry experts in order to remain current with industry trends and changes in the healthcare environment, such as finances/reimbursement, legislative issues, best practices etc. and act accordingly in the best interest of the Center;
  • Adhere to the company's professional conduct policies;
  • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality;
  • Perform related work as required.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Position reports to CEO
  • This role supervises/manages office positions and surgical team with the exception of physicians.

Position/Type/ Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time exempt position and core hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m with flexibility as needed to accommodate surgery center schedule and needs
  • Potential for evening and weekend hours as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration from a four-year College or University and three or more years of Ambulatory Surgery Center experience; or a Registered Nurse with a BSN Degree, ACLS Certification, and a strong business background
  • At least three years of healthcare management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and at times stressful situations in a calm, professional manner
  • Ophthalmic surgery management experience highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of surgery center business operations;
  • Working knowledge of standard accounting principles, financial statement review, and budget development;
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including experience working with EMR's an similar software, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability for self-direction and initiative;
  • Excellent communication skills.
